Robert A. Luster serves as the Director of Instrumental Studies at King High School since 2019. His bands and orchestras consistently receive superior ratings at Music Performance Assessments. Prior to his appointment at King, he was the Director of Bands at McLane Middle School in Brandon, FL. Robert graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Music Education from the University of South Florida. He performed with USF's Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra consistently earning principal horn. Prior to his graduation, he was privileged to work with numerous high school band programs including Brandon High School, Joe E. Newsome High School, Sunlake High School, Haines City High School, Lakeland High School, and Mulberry High School. 

Most notably during his time with the Newsome High School band program, the band competed in the Bands of America Delaware regional competition and won against 34 bands from around the nation. They were also featured on television performing in the 2016 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. 

Mr. Luster comes with a wealth of knowledge having spent several years performing across the nation. He spent 4 years touring the nation with multiple drum and bugle corps as a soloist and leader among the ensembles. Robert also earned a seat in Polk's All-County Band every year with in grade school and earned 5th and 1st chair in Florida's All-State Band in 2004 and 2006. While in high school. he served his band on their leadership team for multiple years.
